The I.O.O.F. (Independent Order of Odd Fellows) Cemetery, or Pioneer Cemetery, is located on University Street between 15th and 18th Avenues. Many of the early burials were members of the I.O.O.F. and the W.O.W. (Woodsmen Of The World).
With many interesting personalities buried here, most signifcant is the Civil War Memorial, with the statue of the soldier and the graves of many civil war veterans. Lots of other folks who figure in our history project are buried there such as A.V. Peters and his wife (Peters-Liston-Wintermeier House); Thomas and Maria Belshaw and their daughter Ellen Belshaw Brown Linton (Belshaw-Condon House).
